So it's cold here, but not like you guys. I never have any idea what the actual degrees are, but the humidity really cuts deep. We were out in it for a while on new years. By the way nobody in Ohio shovels their driveways for their sidewalks. Like for reals nobody. And everything turns to ice even when you do shovel. Everything is ice.
So on new years when we were tracting we knocked on this door and started talking to the guy. We were just asking him questions and when we asked him what religion he was he was like "we're basically catholic." I just asked him "basically?" He got a little jumbled and was like i don't know it's new years. He was not interested, but he was from Croatia and i asked him why he left and he was like war. I guess that is a pretty good reason.
Also we have been meeting with the lady who walked into the church and asked for a copy of the Book of Mormon, Sandra. She is great. She's a little bit confused on somethings, but she really wants to learn and read and anything else. When she asked someone when she was confused they told her that the Book of Mormon started before adam and eve. Like half way through our lesson the other day she just stopped in the middle and just said "i just want you ladies to know that i believe. I really believe." Before we even met with her the first time she said that the church was the true church. It's been fun. She is awesome. She was sick though so she couldn't come to church. Sad.
Also when we were singing one morning and i was looking at the hymnbook i came across 276 Come away to sunday school. I don't know why nobody has mentioned that before to get people to go to sunday school.
We have been at the visitor center a lot. It's dead. And it's only going to get worse. So fun. Lots of phone calls. We do chat every day for a couple hours too.
I am really amazed and scared with how many returned missionaries that are less active. It scares the bageebees out of me. There is some from chat and some that call in. It makes me sad.
There is a lady in our ward. She is from fiji and she went on her mission to salt lake. One of her zone leaders there is from ukraine and he is the elders quorum president in our ward now. She doesn't come to church much. We haven't been able to meet with her much at all lately. One of her converts there gave her a ring at the airport when she was going home and she is now in the middle of divorcing him. They were active for a while and now not at all. She now goes to school and works at a bar. She was also one of the missionaries that they tested "preach my gospel" on and she still has it. When anybody tries to teach her now her answers aren't directly like this, but she's basically saying "i know what you are trying to do". She knows exactly what she is suppose to do. She is very nice though.
