So we have this investigator named Dan. I really can't remember what I've told you about him before, but he came to church this week and it was so great. It was in the YSA branch and everybody just invited him to different things and it was so great. He still doesn't agree with a lot of the doctrinal stuff though. Like the rest hymn in sacrament was Joseph Smith's First Prayer and i don't think he liked that very much. We had a lesson with him on Wednesday. He just studies everything a lot and not the basic stuff. Like the deep church history stuff and compares a lot of stuff with the Bible, which is good, but he said he doesn't know for sure if the Bible is all true either. Most of our talk this week was about the Priesthood. He views the two priesthoods as separate, which they are in a sense. And then he doesn't see the need for the Aaronic Priesthood because he doesn't see the necessity for outward ordinances either. We have tried to explain, but i guess some of it will take time and faith.
We also had another neat experience at church yesterday. So there is this boy who got back from his mission the end of last year and he has been bringing his girlfriend, Cindy to the YSA branch basically every week for a few months. It's kind of a long story, but we were told that she really is interested in the church and she has been asking a lot of questions to Cody and has been reading the Book of Mormon. So they told us just to be nice to her and not shy away from her and that if she was taught she would want to be taught by sisters. So we would at least say a little something every week to her. So yesterday after Relief Society Cindy came up to us and said that she was ready to meet with us and take the lessons. So we are meeting with her next Sunday after church. Yay! It was so exciting. She basically knows everything that we believe she just wants to take the lessons now. Cody has been bugging her to just talk to us about it and she finally did. We were so excited!
It was also a crazy day at sites this week too. We were at the Johnson Home on Thursday and then on Friday at the visitors' center. They had about 700 or so people come in before one or two. There were a bunch of bus tours and they had been planning and had this whole schedule for us too. A lot of the groups that came in had quite a few more than they had told them, so there were 10 sets of sisters there and a lot us split up for the tours. So we had to do the whole tour our selves. It was kind of weird because you get too used to having a companion that will finish what you are saying, but they weren't there. It was so fun though. Most of them were youth conferences. There was the one from Cincinnati and then a few from Virginia Then we were at the Johnson Home on Saturday again because there was a bunch of buses coming. So we had about 500 people through that home before one. I don't even know how many tours we took.
