On tuesday we had Book of Mormon club that we have every week. We weren't teaching this week thank goodness. It was out of control this week. We have been going through the chart thing in preach my gospel in the plan of salvation and how the Book of Mormon testifies of Christ and the Atonement. It was on alma 40-42. It is usually pretty good and lots of comments and testimonies and you know uplifting. But not so much that day. There is one person who likes to comments a lot. He was really hard to stop him or correct him or anything this time. He started talking about how we can't learn in the next life and how there is nothing we can do after this life to change and we don't really continue learning and about how those who commit suicide cannot be covered in the atonement. It was rough. I don't even know what to say.
So it was spring break so the visitors center was actually busy. We didn't really know how to handle it. I'm kind of rusty so i need to brush up on a lot of things. We were there on friday and saturday. On Friday we took three and a half tours! It was so awesome. and then on saturday we took three too and two of them were non members.
One of them was actually really cool. When we started to take them out to the sites and were talking to them they told us that his grandma died on monday and his other grandma nine months before that and they had the funeral and they just wanted to get away and they came here. They actually live kind of close to kent. So we got to talk a lot about families and being able to see them again and it was really great. We also got to take a couple tours of a youth group from Rochester. Youth groups are so fun. They were great.
On saturday we just decided to stay the night again since we didn't have meetings in the morning and got to see most of the Young Womens broadcast which was neat. I really liked when they talked about every decision you make matters and you can be an influence for good. Then we also got to go to the sunrise service at the temple. It was interesting. They always are. It was good.
Happy Easter! These are little quotes from some church marquees. "The easter bunny didn't rise from the dead" and "God's text message to the world - the bible". For easter we went over to the walls who are a couple in our ward. They actually live just on like the next street over from us. They had a few other people from the ward over so there was like ten of us total. We probably stayed longer than we probably should have. It was fun though.
Well first we went to the Rootstown ward for the first couple hours and then to the easthill branch. We walked in and there was a total of eleven people there. The branch president was planning on speaking for the whole time. But on sunday morning his daughter passed away. It was a good meeting, but kind of somber. Then they cancelled the rest of the meetings. It was kind of weird, but it was probably for the best.
So this week was pretty good. We baked lots and lots of cookies for members in our area for easter and delivered a lot of them, but we still have to do some tonight. It was a ton of cookies. Good thing sister goodman is an awesome baker. Plus we got to meet a few less actives that we haven't met yet so that was fun. We also gave them all a scripture that i just love now. It's Mosiah 16:7-9. It's awesome. Christ really just made it all completely possible for us and he wants us to live with him so bad.
It's amazing all the things that are in there ("Preach My Gospel") and it is so different when you study it by the spirit. I remember reading it before and in the mtc i thought it was a completely different book. I wish i could just remember all of it.
